Over a focused 19-day period, I conducted an empirical experiment using an infrared sauna as part of my regular health and fitness routine. This routine primarily involved Zone 2 cardio, HIIT, and strength training. Prior to the experiment, my weight, fat percentage, and other vital metrics remained relatively steady over the preceding two months, providing a consistent baseline for measuring changes.
KEY RESULTS:
Weight: Decreased from 78 kg to 74.5 kg.
Muscle Mass: Increased modestly by approximately 500 g.
Body Fat: Dropped significantly from 14.8 kg to 11.1 kg.
Body Fat Percentage: Reduced from 18.7% to 14.8%.
Visceral Fat: Showed a remarkable decrease from 62.4 cm² to 47,7 cm².
InBody score went from 78 to 83.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
Improved Sleep: I noticed deeper, more restful sleep throughout the experiment.
Increased Energy Levels: My overall energy levels during the day were higher.
Skin Health: My skin became noticeably softer.
While muscle growth in such a short period remained modest, the significant reduction in body fat, particularly visceral fat, was the standout result of the experiment. Coupled with the improvements in sleep, energy, and skin condition, the infrared sauna proved to be a valuable addition to my health regimen over this period.
